Doris is one year old tomorrow. She has really made my day. Thankyou, Doris, for providing these lovely, sunny pictures which will illustrate the imminent owlet pattern. And hearty thanks, too, to Abi and Alby who were kind enough to pop out and meet me this lunchtime. These photographs were taken in the small pavilion that forms part of the Queen Mother’s Memorial in Edinburgh’s Botanical Gardens. I love this tiny grotto-like building, and in this instance, my fondness for shell-lined interiors supersedes my antimonarchical tendencies. The pavilion is built of Caithness stone and while its interior walls are lined with mussels, scallops and spoots, the ceiling is decorated with highland fir-cones. It is a very beautiful and distinctly Scottish space.
Many happy returns to Doris, and many thanks, again, to Abi!

Doris is absolutely adorable. Your post attracted my attention because that is my name also. I don’t meet many Dorises. Your owl sweater is remarkable; how talented you are. My granddaughter turned one yesterday.
I can’t tell you just how HAPPY I am to see you’ve made the pattern for wee ones. This is definitely being knit up for my daughter! I might even need a matching one for myself :)
A thousand times – THANK YOU!!!
I’m looking forward to buying your pattern for the owlets for my wee toads (being French and all that, you know). I enjoy reading your posts very much and I share your disappointment at seeing this gross plagiarism of your work. Just as angering in the knitting world as in the academic field. But they couldn’t copy the lovely styling and photography, your sweater and picture are far more enticing than theirs.
Adorable. Absolutely adorable. I can hardly wait to buy this pattern. I know 2 little ones, sibs, who desperately need to join the parliament. Thank you.
Both are absolutely adorable!
Dear me. That is a cute babe.
oohhh!! She’s too cute with her owlet! Happy birthday to you Doris :)
Love Love Love.
Absolutely gorgeous – I would knit one for my son – except he’s 30 and 6 feet tall, so I don’t think he would wear it!!
The perfect Cow and Gate baby! I’m sure the Queen Mother could have looked at these photos and believed them to have been taken in the 1950s. Particularly the top one – something about the angle. I had a Cow and Gate baby once. She’s seven now and colonising my sewing machine. It does go so quickly, as people tell you.
Too cute! I’ve just realised, to my great delight, that I can knit an owlet for one of the many babies due in my circle of friends and family this year. I’ve been loving the owl pattern but it’s entirely the wrong sort of shape for me so knitting it for a wee one would be brilliant.
LOVE!
She is just so beautiful. What a perfect model for the sweet sweater, love the color.
Oh my goodness how cute are those pics!!!!! The jumer looks really cute on her and she is one adorable little model… X
Oh – between Doris and the sweater, the cuteness is just about illegal!
Happy Birthday Doris! Enjoy your modeling career.
Doris is a sweet pea – adorable!! And, the sweater is pretty rocking too….
Gorgeous! Can’t wait to knit one.
What Sarah said! Very sweet little lady.
This might be the cutest owl sweater I’ve seen yet.
She is a sweetheart!
Happy Birthday Doris.
Those little arms are killing me, she’s a total doll baby:)
I love this sweater so much. Yesterday, I printed your free pattern for my own owl sweater. Today, I am going to begin my search for just the right yarn. I am worried. After a long line of washcloths, scarfs, and hats, this will be my second sweater; although, I am quite excited! Thank you for your kind and sharing spirit as you share these designs with the rest of us. ~Kelly

Aggghhhh, the cuteness, it burns my eyes!
I especially like the way that it is so very adorable without screaming out, “I am a girl!” Your sweater would look equally wonderful on a boy. Could there perhaps be a miniparliament of o w ls as folks finish their smaller versions of the sweater?
you may have been on the look out for baby models, but now i think i may need to be on the look out for babies/kids to make this for, it’s adorable!
J love this model…it’s possible to get the pattern, if you please?
Excuse-me for my english…
hugs
Cris
Happy birthday Doris!
The sweater makes her look so grown up! :-)
SO CUTE!!!!! Looking forward to buying the pattern so I can make an owl jumper for my niece!
So sweet!
